Woodford 5 Bar Field Gates: Quality and Durability from Ireland

We import our 5 Bar Field Gates from Ireland to provide your property with quality and durability. Woodford, a long-established family-run business, creates top-notch products at competitive prices. These gates are crafted from premium softwood and feature stainless steel fixings for longevity. Additionally, traditional mortice and tenon joints, glued for extra strength, ensure the gate withstands the test of time.

How to Choose the Right Gate

When selecting your gate, decide whether you need a left or right-handed option, or if you require a matching set for two gates. Remember that you can determine the gate’s handing by looking at the good side, so choose accordingly.. Also, note that all gate sizes are metric, with imperial sizes indicated only as a guide.

Pressure Treatment for Added Protection

Our Field & Ranch Gates are pressure treated for extra protection. This treatment enhances the style and helps shield the timber from insect infestation, fungal decay, and rot. However, exposure to weather may cause fading over time, so we recommend further staining to maintain the product’s appearance. Also, be aware that pressure-treated timber has built-in coloration, which may vary slightly depending on the timber species.

Log Selection and Manufacturing Process

To create quality products from natural resources, we start by carefully selecting logs by hand. We ensure each component uses only high-quality raw material from the correct section of the log. At the “Green mill,” we then saw the logs into rectangular shapes, fully saturating them. If timber requires seasoning, we remove much of its moisture before machining it for smooth or shaped surfaces.

Supporting Responsible Forest Management with FSC

Grangewood promotes sustainable practices, so we make our Field & Ranch Gates with FSC-certified wood. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a global benchmark for responsible forest management. By choosing FSC-certified products, you support well-managed forests and help sustain forests for future generations.
