New ‘Veggie Box’ D.I.Y Raised Planter

New in stock this month is the Veggie Box a kit form raised planter ideal for growing your own fruit and vegetables in even the most limited garden environments.

Designed to sit directly on soil or grass, this easy to assemble raised planter requires no nails or screws and can be constructed in minutes.

Veggie Box is made up using interlocking 32mm planed, pressure treated boards which are available in a variety of lengths from 0.9m (approx 3ft) to 2.4m (approx 8ft) allowing the creation of raised planting beds to suit most spaces.

The clever design also means that Veggie Box can be built upwards to accommodate deep rooted vegetables such as parsnips and carrots.

New Postsaver Sleeves

Some timber fence posts rot prematurely at ground level leaving you with a perfectly good fence that has to be replaced after only a few years! Postsaver ground line barrier sleeves prevent this problem by keeping preservatives in and decay out. They’ll easily double the life of your fence posts, saving you the cost of a full fence replacement and have an expected service life in excess of 15 years.

Patented Postsaver barrier sleeves are a dual layer sleeve comprising a tough polythene outer layer with a meltable bituminous liner; they are all 14’’/350mm long. Postsaver sleeves are quickly and easily heat shrunk on to the vulnerable ground line section of your post using a gas blow torch or pallet shrink gun.

On heating the bituminous liner melts and seals the timber surface whilst the tough outer thermoplastic sleeve shrinks down tightly on to the post. The end result is a tough and durable barrier which keeps the preservative in and the causes of decay out.

HOW TO APPLY A POSTSAVER YOURSELF

The use of Postsaver sleeves typically doubles the life of the fence post. In practice this means a typical expected service life well in excess of 15 years. A claim backed up by nearly 20 years of proven service without failure and exhaustive independent testing.

Postsaver sleeves are easily and quickly applied in 6 to 30 seconds (depending on size of post and power of application equipment) using a low cost off the shelf gas blow torch or pallet shrink gun.

Green Oak Beams & Posts Available

We are pleased to announce that with the recent installation of a hydraulic Woodmizer LT40 saw at our Yoxall depot, Grangewood Fencing Supplies is now able to offer a bespoke green oak cutting service.

Oak beams and posts can be cut to order (in any quantity) up to a maximum length of 6.1m and a section of 350mm x 350mm. We are also able to offer a 4 way wethering service for gate posts if required.
